True to size! My daughter wears a size three and these fit perfect! I like about a thumbs width of extra space near the top of the toe for growing room and these had that. The shoes have a shiny finish and the ribbon to tie is removable leaving an elastic band to hold the sides together. I would buy these tap shoes again. I wish they came in matte black leather.EXCELLENT PRODUCTThere is an elastic under the bow to make a snug fit. They seem to run a little small even though I ordered a size larger than my kid wears. They just barely fit.Our 7 year old daughter does ballet and tap, and loves her shoes.
