We have used Kamik hiking boots for ourselves and our kids for several years now, so they are among our favorite items. Of course, kids grow...so I have been able to order another set. I will say that these hold up well enough that we can often pass them down to a brother when the time is right. We hike a lot with scouts, as well as on our own, and these always do a good job on our feet. I find they seem expecially comfortable for ours kids, who seem to love wearing them. On extended camping trips, these can be worn all day without pain or foot issues, which is a BIG deal for a mom who doesn't want issues cropping up at an already busy time! I ordered this set in the blue for my 12 year old son, and he loves them. I was worried the blue would be too bright and "girl color" for him since he can be a bit picky about the colors..he likes everything plain. But, these have a very nice look, subdued enough to not draw attention but still a little fun. These fit as we expected them too, but they do seem to run just a touch narrow. He has narrow feet so that worked out ok for him but if your child has wider feet, you may have some comfort issues at first. We have found that these do "wear in" though and become more giving after a few wears. As always I suggest wearing them around in small spurts and not getting started with a long hike in new boots!
