From day one my son has been in love with this shoe. He loves that he could slip it on but make them fit snug with the elastic lace and always comments how comfortable they are. It also helps that his favorite color is green and this shoe has a nice color combination. I love that they are so easy to wash (and dry). The first pair he had he grew out of and when I asked him to help me find him new shoes he was adamant that I just order the next size up so that is what I did. Now he is getting close to growing out of the new pair and has requested a 3rd! I put my foot down and ordered him a different shoe (Adidas) and he was almost in tears because he was so disappointed and said they rubbed on his ankle so now I'm reconsidering buying him a 3rd pair. These are pretty much just sneakers with a waterproof insole, I was expecting something more like a water sock, and more mesh without an inside lining. I wanted something for my kid to wear at a splash pad and I feel like these would be really heavy and cumbersome when wet. I’ll keep them anyway for outside play so he doesn’t have to wear socks. I ordered a size 11 and they’re the same size as my son’s 10 sneakers.Bought these for my son for a month long trip to the Carribean. He wanted something he could wear in a waterfall, river and ocean and also be able to hike in. The first day he wore them he got bad blisters and complained they were the most uncomfortable shoe he had ever worn. They completely filled up with water and didn't drain and should not even be considered a water shoe. He got out of the water and took his shoe off on the shore and had to dump a shoe full of water out. That is the only day he wore them because he refused to put them on for the rest of the trip. We were stuck on an island with no water shoes for a month. He even refused to wear them for a horseback ride where his feet weren't even going to be on the ground. We love Teva and count on the quality and reliability of the brand but this product was a complete fail for them. I'm surprised they put their name on this product. Do not waste your money or time with this shoe. Choose another brand, wish I would've bought the Keen's which was his second choice. This is pretty much the only shoe my son will wear, they are light, comfortable and easy to put on. He wears them on the daily basis, not just in water. He has a pair of Asics and Geox shoes that I try to get him to wear to school, as I feel they offer more foot support for running, but he always chooses these. Some reviewers mention the issue with the shoe rubbing their foot, we haven't experienced any of that, and this is his 3rd pair, I guess it depends on the anatomy of the foot. Works for us.My 5 year old son used these for a kayak / hiking trip on Kauai and they worked perfectly. The shoes drain nicely, and he didn't complain about them hurting his feet after a 6 mile hike. The treads can get a bit clogged in mud, making them slippery, but overall I think they are really nice and well made shoes. We purchashed these shoes for a recent trip and we're so happy we did!! They provide superior protection in the water and can also be used for other activities. They are easy to put on and don't slip off like other water shoes do. I highly recommend this brand of water shoes. In general, I really like Teva shoes. In fact, this is the 4th pair of Teva water shoes (all different models) that we've purchased for our son. The previous 3 were all great. Unfortunately, this pair is far from great and are unwearable.Simply, these shoes cause pain from the rubbing around the achilles tendon. I wish I would have placed more credence in the negative reviews that mentioned this. I advise you to do so now. Almost all of the negative reviews are for the same rubbing/pain issue. I doubt this affects everyone, but based on the one & two star reviews it is fairly common. Not worth the risk IMO. Look elsewhere for kid's water shoes.Super cute but took a LONG time to dry out. Also no holes on bottom of shoe to allow water to escape.
