These are a good looking pair of shoes. My son says they're comfortable and enjoys wearing them. I'd say they run a little on the small side, depending on what you're used to. I'd order the size you think you need and a size larger to try as well. My only complaint is that they are a little difficult for him to get on by himself. He really has to loosen the laces to get his foot in; its much more of a struggle than other shoes. Also, the laces are a little short. I was trying to teach him to tie his own laces, but these are just too short for him to be able to do it himself.This is the third time we have bought this shoe. Its a good choice (one of the few choices) for kids with very wide feet. It's a comfortable, good looking shoe. But don't expect a long life time - these shoes wear out really quickly - you will be lucky to get 8 weeks wear. Clarks sells wide shoes for kids that are more durable (at least twice as long in my experience) - but they are not particularly easy to get in the USA - there is a very limited supply and range of styles on the website and in their US stores - which is why we have been buying these New Balance shoes.These shoes are great. I have always been a New Balance fan and have had a tough time finding New Balance for kids in the stores. I was so pleased to find them on amazon! The shoes are an excellent quality and were a perfect fit. They were very vibrant in color and were definitely of the quality you would expect from New Balance. They fit perfectly and were much more comfortable than on my son's fee than the cheaper shoes we'd been buying from discount stores. My son swears he runs faster in these shoes. The product was exactly as described. The stitching and packaging was all well done. I plan to update this review in a few months to describe how they hold up to the rough life of a little boy! That is the true test of a kid's shoe!I purchased these for my 10 year old son. They came quickly, look just like the photos, and are of excellent quality. My son really liked the vibrant colors and the "cool bubble circles" plus he said they are really comfy. I checked the support inside the shoe and it is firm yet has give for comfort. The rubber sole is thick and the seams are well constructed. It doesn't look like they will be coming loose anytime soon (like when the upper part comes loose from the sole) and as these are for a very active boy - that is a wonderful thing! Even with the terrific construction, the shoe is light with great ventilation and seems perfect for everyday wear. The photos are after about 4 days of daily wear. Thanks for an awesome product, New Balance!Great XW shoe option. He loves this his shoes look like his dad's. Very sturdy and well made shoe that still looks brand new after two weeks of wearing. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well they clean off. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before he gets into a real mess that can't be wiped off, but so far all I've had to do was wipe it with a wet towel. This is the first pair of lace-up toddler shoes I've bought for him. The laces are long enough to tie in a double-knot bow, so you don't have to worry about re-tying shoes constantly, and he's starting to learn how to tie his own shoes now.My son loves these, but they seem to start getting worn out very quickly. The material around the laces deteriorates first, which is a bit confusing. Would buy again (and have) but wish they were more durable, though less of an issue for this age, as he grows out of them fast. But other shoes I can donate when grown out of and these go in the trash.We loved the look when recieved. Fit good. But after worn 2x it looked like my son had worn it for months...a slack and a little widened look. The look you get when you wear shoes for a while.My only wore them a few hours those 2 days. If it were to have kept it's shape for a few months I would have given 5 stars.We've always been a fan of New Balance shoes for ourselves and our boys. Unfortunately the last pair we got for our oldest was awful. The back immediately broke down, which made it almost impossible to wiggle his foot in. That combined with just learning to tie his shoes on his own led to a lot of frustration. Luckily THESE shoes seem to be on par with what we would expect from New Balance- nice and sturdy. And my son (1st grade) LOVES the design- he wanted to sleep in them tonight!
