Description
Discover the extraordinary stories behind everyday things! Did you know that the ice cream sundae was invented because of a law forbidding the sale of ice cream on Sundays? Or that the first motorcycle was really just a tricycle with a motor? Would you believe that Mickey Mouse started out as a rabbit? Arranged in alphabetical order with anecdotal, fun-to-read text, this fascinating book is packed with the stories behind these and over 100 more inventions. "[An] entertaining volume of trivia." --Kirkus Reviews

I purchased this book for My 10 year old Son who is in 5th Grade. He had to write a report on a Non Fiction Book. He is a fast reader, and still prefers to read short books when needed for assignments. He was able to read the book in one day, write report next. Each chapter is a subject that has fascinating information. Part of his prompt for Report was to identify things he knew and things he did not. The did know portion was alot he learned about. He was excited and shared almost the whole book to me as he read. :) Made for and easy fun read for his report. Id recommend book for any young reader or eve a book to keep close by for a quick read on any chapter. Enjoyable for All. Written for kids and families!
