They are nice shoes..BUT they caused blisters and pain on the top of the foot for weeks, until they were broken in. He complained every day and had to wear bandaids on the top part of his foot.The laces do not stay tied, they are easily loosened even if u double knot them.Again they are cute but I won’t be purchasing again.My son has worn these shoes for 3 years straight of private school where only black oxfords are allowed. The quality of this shoe is very superior to the S_erry oxford and all of the cheaper quality shoes. These last all year long, guaranteed. However, my latest purchase looked slightly different on the inside of the shoe.....just different colors of labels still being just as padded and high quality looking. Unfortunately when my son tried them on they were too tight for him to consider even breaking in. My son has never needed a wide before and does not need a wide in any other shoe. This shoe has never run narrow for us before. I'll return them but I'm ordering the same exact shoe, we love the quality, in a wide.My son is 10 years old and just started wearing a wide (as per being measured at a Stride Rite store). After wearing these "wide" shoes for 3 weeks in a row, and me telling him to give them time to stretch out, he complains that they pinch the front part of the outside of his foot (behind his toes). His feet are not super wide. He just barely measures a wide. I would like to send these back, but we have had them for a while now. They do look nice and he only wears them on Sunday, so we will continue to use them a little longer.These area great shoes. My son has been using these shoes for school for the past 4+ months and they're holding up great. These Florsheim's are a great match for my son's feet. They are well-made and comfortable and there are no complaints. I've tried different brands of shoes for my son and once we wore his first pair of Florsheim's I knew that they were the right shoes for him. I plan to buy them for my younger son too. The new model of Florsheim Billings Jr shoe just isn't the same as it was in previous years. Not only did we have to switch up to a wide when we used to wear this in regular, but it's still not wide enough. They are tight from top to bottom so that the boys toes are being squeezed down from above. Once you make the mistake of buying it and finding this out, Marty's Shoes will NOT provide a free return. Mistake to have bought from this vendor without noticing they didn't specify free returns. Now at least you know. I lost money on this purchase. Nice business practice.My son has to where a school uniform. These are the shoes he goes back to every year. Very good quality and comfortable, They can make it through a whole year of every day wear including the playground and still look good. We only have to order another pair because he out grows them.Exceptional value and sturdily made. Don't know how they'll perform yet but my grandson likes them.
