I ordered these shoes for my son who is 4 years old and cannot stand flip flops because they have the thing that goes in between your toes. He wanted a pair of sandals so bad and I couldn't find a pair that fit him well at any of the shops around my house. I was also looking for something that was velcro so it was easy for him to take on and off, something that could get wet and dry fast, and something that would still be nice looking if we went out. My son loves these we have had them for a few months now and he wears them all day every day no matter where we go. The straps are easy for his little and have upheld a zillion times coming on and off and of course a few million other time of him just wanting to hear the velcro noise while he sits there. They look nice and can be put with swim shorts or a pair of khakis. We water tested them of course and they dry quickly. These are very well made and we will be ordering another pair next summer just in a bigger size.Update after 3 months of wear: these are still my child's favorite shoes. Very comfortable and allows feet to breathe. After countless washes, the velcro is still working just fine. They are starting to look a little worn at about the same time I will need to order a size up anyway. These have been, hands down, the smartest shoe purchase for my toddler.First review: Really nice and easy shoe for a toddler to wear. These are nice for hot weather and keeps the toes covered and a little better protected while not over heating the child with a full shoe. They wash easily and dont get smelly with those busy little feet all day. The velcro is long lasting. I have the navy blue/yellow pair and they are vibrant. Will probably just keeping buying this shoe, one more size up at a time, as my toddler grows. Really like all the colors.I am a fan of Tevas overall and quality of this product is on par with their stuff. Only reason i am giving it 4 stars is b/c the straps along the top are more like a swim shoe than a really rugged outdoor shoe (which is what i was looking for). The toe is covered with the material, which is definitely good. But, it doesn't have a thick piece of rubber or anything over it to really give extra coverage for the toe. The soles of the shoes are more like real shoes and good for running around our yard and woods. But, they are definitely more suited for wearing to the pool or walking in a creek or light usage than really hard playing in a yard with various surfaces and obstacles.Quick warning: They fit larger than what I consider to be the "average size" so size down if you buy them. Otherwise, my toddler loves these sandals and actually keeps them on. We live on the Chesapeake Bay which can always call for an impromptu walk on the beach during warmer weather. It's a great shoe for the crazy toddler who wants to walk on the beach, but not in bare feet. Post-walk, it was easy to clean. From a learning standpoint, it was great for my Montessori toddler who is still learning to put on his own shoes. We originally purchased the version with the closed toe, but after much deliberation, I decided I needed to up his cool factor by just a notch, and went with the open toe. It looks way less dorky! A great buy and we plan to buy again in a larger size when he outgrows this pair. We’ve tried other sandals and every year we revert back to this one (since we found them). We’re on our 4th pair and I won’t be attempting to buy any other sandals other than these as she grows. They fit her kind-of-wide feet perfectly, are very durable, can get wet, easy to put on, no annoying extra straps or tags. I also love that her toes are protected. The only time I’ve had to buy a new pair is when she’s grown out of her other ones and even then they’re still in good enough condition to hand down or donate. LOVE the sandals!I purchased these for my grandson. We used the size chart and had him stand on a ruler to get the right size and it worked. These have a flexible sole that's fairly thin and grippy, and they look good so he can wear them for everything summer related. They have Velcro strip closures for both his foot and ankle so he can put them on himself and we can adjust them as he grows. (He's three so the "I do it" is very important.) He liked them so much he wanted to sleep in them and unlike flip-flops they don't rub between his toes and he can run in them without getting tripped or having them slip off. We'll be getting him another pair next year I'm sure.My son had a pair of Tevas before. Now I will admit, I am not a fan of Tevas and before having a toddler that ran around like a wild animal, I refused to buy these shoes. Then my husband bought them for him. My son loved them, especially the ease of slipping them on and off without having to search for socks. So when he outgrew that pair, I reluctantly went looking for another. We wanted to get the same style but apparently they are discontinued. I ended up with these Tidepools, but unfortunately they are not as well made as the previous pair. They are definetely lighter which I guess is a good thing for a two year old who doesn't stop. They are still easy to put on and take off which is great. The velcro makes them easily adjustable as my kid's feet grow. But they just do not feel or look as sturdy as the previous pair. I wish I knew what that style was called. I would start a petition for Teva to start making them again. My daughter has had these in three sizes. We just keep getting the next size up. Neoprene material is good for getting wet, the velcro stays closed, and they don't rub anywhere. The best. I don't think Teva makes them anymore though.I thought this style would be comfy for my toddler but the way the toe area is designed, his big toe pops right out. If they designed these to cover the whole toes instead of having the openings, they would be a really nice sandal. I've purchased many pairs of the hard soled tevas for my first born and will stick with those for my son too.
