If you are used to buying stride rite shoes, I suggest you buy at least a size smaller than the size you normally buy. Prior to purchasing these sandals I read some reviews that said they were too large and others that said they were too small, so I took a chance and ordered my son’s size (2.5w) in regular stride rite shoes. The 2.5w were much too large so I decided to exchange them for the 1.5w (shown in the pictures). For an accurate comparison, I think it’s important to compare the sizes of the same brand of shoes (Stride Rite), so I took pictures of the Stride Rite sandals in comparison to the Stride Rite made2play Arron sneakers. The first picture is the size 1.5w sandals compared to the 1.5w stride rite made2play sneakers (the sandals are noticeably larger). The second picture is the 1.5w sandals with the 2.5w made2play and you can see they are about the same size. However, because my son does not wear socks with the sandals and there is less padding on them, the 1.5w is actually even too large, so I am going with the size 1M in sandals even though he usually wears a 2.5w in the made2play sneakers. Other than the size descrepncies these are very nice sandals.Leather is good. Like the design. I bought my son two pairs of this shoe in different sizes. The first pair had cloth rip off the strap because the velcro does not go all the way across. That was my only complaint with the first pair. Annoying, but otherwise leather is good and design good. Survived a summer with my son running around in them. Price was good. The second pair I ordered months later to me look like a "second" or not quality. At first when I saw the shoe, I thought they sent me a used shoe because the heal of one of the sandals looked like it had been worn. However, when I look at the bottom of th sole of the shoe, it doesn't look like it has been worn. However, the inside heel of the shoe looks worn or bad quality. I never would have bought if it looked like this in a brick and mortar store. It wasn't made right and does not look like the first pair I bought. Next time will go to brick and mortar so I can see what I am getting. Am still debating on if I should try to return for replacement. What a hassel.I had originally bought these in a bigger size thinking he’d grow into and it wouldn’t be an issue. Well, I forgot that stride rite does run on the bigger size, so sizing up was like buying 2 sizes too big. I exchanged them for his normal size and they ARE WONDERFUL!My son is obsessed with a pair of shoes similar to these, but they are worn out and look terrible. These on the other hand, are fantastic quality!!! As expected from stride rite! Here what these shoes have lived though:Mayan PyramidsMexican Centoes4 rain storms in the rainforestAnd loads of mud! They still look beautiful! And my son LOVES to wear them! He wore them for a total of 32,000 steps. Which equals about 11 miles. And they are showing no wear and tear! So, in other words, get these shoes! And in your child’s regular size!I Love these shoes! My son does too! They are so adorable for school with jeans or shorts and even for church with some cute chinos. They are a great fit, they are well made and I can tell they are going to last all summer and even be able to be used by other kids after that. My son says they are so comfortable all day at school and he is actually excited when I say to get his shoes on. The sole is really thick and durable, but not too hard. I am really happy with these shoes. The only downside is I feel like they are really narrow. I guess my son does have a little wider feet, so we had to exchange for the wider ones and as soon as we had those, he loves them. If your child has always had chubbier feet or are a little on the wide side, I would definitely order the wide ones. Would recommend for sure. =DMy son had some similar sandals last year and wanted the same style this year. So, even though these were pricey, I ordered some. I read the reviews about the shoes being bigger than you would think, so I ordered the size of shoe he's currently in.Big Mistake. The middle part of the sandals don't give at all and were very tight on him. So, I sent that size back and went with the "wide" version of the same size. I should have probably just gone up a size and ordered what I would have if I hadn't read about the sandals running large. My kid is happy with the fit and comfort of the wide version, but has no room to grow toe-wise. His toes will be mashing up against the edge by the end of the summer with the way kids grow.I say, go with your gut on sizing rather than what the review say. You might end up sending one back either way, but thank goodness for hassle-free returns. If it wasn't for the fact that I'd already sent one set back and my son really wanted to just be able to wear sandals finally, I'd be sending the second pair back and going for a third that will last him through the fall.Nice shoe. Comfortable, but make feet stink and changes colour after some use.I'm so happy with this shoe. After trying another fisherman sandal from SR and being so disappointed in the width not being a true W (couldn't even get my child's foot into the toe box with the previous shoe as it was so narrow in the arch part), I was super hesitant to try another SR brand sandal. This one rocks. It has tons of room, you can easily slide a super wide foot into the shoe and secure with a velcro strap that is long enough to fit across. Moms of toddlers with super wide feet (like mine) who need a taller shoe will rejoice with this sandal. My little dude has been so happy with his sandals, he brings them to me every day so he can go outside and play. They are flexible but tough.I bought this shoe a half size bigger "just in case" but you don't need to. It seems to run a bit large so get actual size and you should do fine.HAY QUE PEDIR UNA TALLAS MENOS DE LA MEDIDA QUE USAN
