Thick material, nice height - not too tall. Tend to run a bit big; my son wears a nine and he is flopping around in them. I guess thats better than having a time trying to jam his foot into the ankle part and bend into the foot part, but it's a little irritating that they won't stay on his foor when his feet are dangling, like in a shopping cart seta or something. But they are quality made and my son loves the dinos! :)
