These are GREAT shoes - but with great shoes comes a rigidity of the materials. So...it is frustrating for my 6 year old to have to struggle to get them on. He would rather grab the old Saucony's that have loosed up over time and wear them. Takes too much time for an active boy. BUT...they are of wonderful quality and we've purchased Saucony shoes before for our son - they are the only shoes that can stand up to him rough and touch - never stop 6 year old ways. HIGHLY recommend - just heads up - if your child has to put shoes on and off by themselves - it could be frustrating. Would have given a 5 except for the stiffness.
