I am a Mom of two boys, 3.5 years apart. One is now 12 years old in a man’s size 10W and the youngest is 9 in a youth size 3W. I have purchased two pairs of these in brown and black since my oldest started school in 2014, starting at about size 1 youth. More often than not I am able to save the older son’s outgrown Jungle Mocs for my younger son. We have only had to replace a few pairs of the lighter tan colors, as they do tend to show stains more. The black are generally passed on to the youngest still looking brand new. I have even gotten away with hand washing them in the sink and air drying them with paper towels stuffed in them to ensure they keep their shape on the rare chance they can’t resist a mud puddle. I am amazed at some of the bad reviews these get, because these shoes hold up for multiple boys with some very basic care. First, always waterproof any suede footwear with 2-3 coats of Camp Dry spray before you let your young man wear them. Do that 2-3 times a year. A suede brush and a damp washcloth goes a long way at keeping daily dirt and grime off. Teach your little men to not drag their toes to stop while riding a scooter, bike, swinging on a swing, etc…point out how that habit destroys even the most sturdy shoes. Inspect their shoes often and snip or burn off any loose threads before your sweet boy can’t resist tugging on one while trying to sit still in class. Always purchase at least two pairs of shoes for your kiddos; it’s not healthy for their feet, or the longevity of their shoe, to wear the same pair everyday. Feet sweat a lot, and a shoe will last longer if you rotate between two pairs, and allow one to dry out for 24 hours. Always wear socks and a shot of Lysol weekly keeps them sanitary and stink free. Purchase a shoe sizer and make sure you are buying the right size and width; try to resist buying big for grow room. These Jungle Mocs have outlasted my two very active boys and been passed on to younger cousins with this basic care. These are truly bullet proof boys school shoes for us, and we haven’t had a P.E. teacher complain yet, that they aren’t supportive enough for running and exercising.Great quality shield! My kid is rough on shoes, and these are still going strong, are comfortable for him, and work for different types of occasions easily. You can tell the shoe is well-made.Nice looking shoe for my daughter for fall. They fit her well....time will tell if they hold up.Half to one size too big. I bought these for my son. I wear women's 9 and these fit me like an 8.5. Still a great shoe for him to grow into. Just run large.after a year of daily use, they still fit well, sole seals are still tight. There is extensive wear on the suede covering but as work shoes, they are still viable. I would purchase again. We used to only buy these type of shoes from LL been. They became way too expensive and then took the color my sin likes off the market. I received the Brown ones he loves them I just ordered the blue ones can't wait for him to get themThese arrived with absolutely no packaging and a repurposed box. The “suede” was scuffed up to the point I thought they had been previously worn. After some work they look okay. Would not keep them if my son didn’t need them right away. He’s had these same shoes before and loved them.I ordered these shoes twice. Returned both and gave up.The first time we went out to a physical store to measure my daughter's feet on a MERRELL chart they supply to their distributors. According to Merrell's measurement administered by a shoe professional, she was size 13. It arrived and it was waaaay too large. I then decided to use the cm measurement on the Size Chart provided by Merrell on Amazon. She measured 18cm precisely and fit Size 12. We bought. They arrived and were waaaay too large. I'm estimating she's likely size 10. But as this is too much work to actually find out, I'm giving up.They are very heavy too. So, may not lend themselves well for running as 5-6 yr olds typically do...This is my sons 4th pair of shoes, we just keep going to the next size up when her grows out of the last one. Only time we had an issue was when we tried a different color. This color has always been reliable. The blue ones died his socks and feet and did not last.I snagged these for my 4 year old son because his size happened to be oddly inexpensive and I’d heard a lot about them. Believe the hype. These are AMAZING. They’re comfortable and easy to put on and take off and rain-resistant and tough. My son calls them his ‘special shoes’ and didn’t even want to take them off to go to bed. If you’re on the fence about these, BUY THEM! You’ll be glad you did.Fit a bit smaller than expected (we used the Moc size chart). So, our son will probably outgrow these faster than we would like! Moc is always great quality. We all wear them!Great, comfortable shoes. This is the only shoe my son will wear. I tried to get him the Big Box special but he could feel the difference in quality and comfort instantly and insisted that he get the Jungle Moc.I sprayed the shoes with silicone sealant for extra waterproofing protection.
