So far I am giving these boots three stars because they are a quality brand name and they fit my daughter. I love the look of them, but the problem that I can foresee is that there is fur/insulation and support around the sides and back of the leg, however on the front of the leg (shin), there is just the thin piece of fabric (as seen in the front picture of the boots). For kids who play outside in the snow, they are on their knees a lot or are running through the snow. I see this front part as being a weak spot in the boot and I am fairly certain that I am going to send them back. The two fur sides do not even meet in the front of the shin like I'm thinking they are supposed to. There is nothing, like....literally NOTHING in between that thin piece of fabric and whatever she has covering her legs. What about wearing tights to school? She will freeze if she has to walk through a snowbank. I just can't believe they did not make them like regular boots with the insulation all the way around and then have the exterior shell (that thin fabric) with the cinch ties. I will give it a week or so since we already got about 18 inches of snow on the ground. They do fit her snugly though, as opposed to some of the boots that seem like big clunkers. These are more like sneakers that go up the leg a little. I'm really torn.
