According to the previous reviews on fit, as well as my son's current shoe size, I used all of the guidelines/advice & ordered him 1 & 1/2 sizes larger than his current shoe size. He will be performing in them in 5 months, so I wanted him to get the feel of them while he practiced without having to buy another pair just before the big show. The jazz shoes fit as expected: a little tough getting them slipped onto his feet, but once on, some room to grow into them. Should be a perfect fit come recital time. PLEASED.I was looking for dance shoes for my toddler. I couldn't find any that looked "manly" in his size in any store, but I found them on Amazon. I knew the shoes would be at least one size too small, so since he wears size 9, I got him 10.5. The shoes arrived, and I was shocked at the fact that I couldn't pull them onto his feet. He is a very thin child, with narrow feet, and these shoes are now too long (10.5 is clearly too big in the length), but he can't possibly get his foot in there (the shoes are too narrow). Unfortunately, because of this, I cannot recommend this product. The shoes definitely run small, but I took that into account when I ordered them. The size was fine, but they are also narrow as well. It turned out perfectly for my daughter who has very narrow feet. :) so all in all, it turned out to be a great purchase. But it is more geared for kids with narrow feet.I was really worried, after reading all the reviews, as to how this would fit! These fit perfectly. I ordered her street shoe size as indicated. I really thought about ordering a half size up so she can grow into them, when we got them they fit awesome & her jazz teacher said they were prefect. It is good I went with what it said because, she said it is better for them not to be big. They are better for the kids if they fit snug but not tight!Good shoes. Just a little tight. Suggest buying a size up.My daughter is 7 1/2 yrs old and wears a size 1 shoe. Make sure to buy 2 sizes up and get the "big kid" size if your child is wearing size leading into adult size shoes. The Capizo brand was running really small. This brand ran a bit wider which was good for my daugher who has wide feet. So, I ordered a size up, as a lot of people suggested. Once the shoe is on, I think it does fit. But getting it on is a horrible, horrible ordeal -- not something I want to go through each week before my daughter's class. There's something about the structure of the shoe that makes it very hard for her to get her foot into it. So I'm going to have to return these and try something else.Soft leather and easy to wear. My daughter wore these weekly for jazz and I may get another year out of them if her foot doesn't grow too fast
