I usually buy Stride Rite for my son at the outlet mall, but we were in a pinch, needed them urgently and couldn't make time in our schedule for the hour long drive to get there. I love Stride Rites, but about $40 is my limit for shoes my son is going to outgrow or destroy in six months. I couldn't find any Stride Rites in my price range on-line so I was thrilled to find these Saucony's (made by the same company) at such a bargain and even in my son's favorite color. He loves them.I would have ordered a size 12.5W in Stride Rites, but took the advice of other reviewers and ordered a 13W for a perfect fit. My only complaint is that the back of the shoe the cups the ankle is a little soft. My six-year old struggles getting his heel into the shoe without the back collapsing. He has to loosen the laces overly wide to shove his foot to the toe to get the back on and then re-tighten and tie them. This cannot be done quickly and I am often finding myself doing it for him just to get out the door in a reasonable amount of time.
