I have a 4-year-old on the small side. She wears a 4T, though most 3T bottoms will still fit because she's a skinny thing. She wears a 7.5-8 toddler shoe, which I know is smaller than the average 4-year-old. Even though she's on the smaller side of average, I'm giving her measurements and fit in case that helps someone compare their child for these tights. The 4-6 year-old tights have been too big for her - even the footless ones! She really needed footed ones, though, and these were the best I could find for the price that were both pink. They look brighter initially, but are the right shade when she's wearing them. She is 40.5 inches tall, and the 2-4 size range goes up to 42 inches. They don't pull up quite as high as the other ones we've tried but are still tall on her torso. But, I've only worn regular hose/tights, not dance tights, so maybe they're supposed to be extra high. At least they weren't to her chest like the others! There is minimal scrunching at the ankles, nothing major. The biggest size issue was the width of the foot. The seam line for the toe stretched across all her little toes and down both sides of the feet to where her toes meet the foot. She didn't complain about discomfort in her ballet or tap shoes, though. She said she could move easily and was comfortable.I think the average 4-year-old or child wearing a 4/4T would be fine in these. It seems the sizing mentioned in the description is accurate. I might buy again, since these come in a 2-pack, though they seem thick and stretchy enough I doubt they'll tear easily.
