The box set presentation was a very nice way to present the series. As a 65 year old man, I loved the first three books. But felt the 4th ???Theodore Boone has parents who are both lawyers, so he has learned much about society & prosecution & almost by osmosis. His uncle is a disgraced attorney who helped start a private law practice with Theo's father. He now works as a private eye. He meets with Theo once a week, but Theo's parents do not make any effort to see him.. Only one lawyer works as a judge over animal court because no others want to take any part of it. When an animals get injured, Theo is sought for advice as to the best course of action. His advice is usually followed. Theo is respected by most kids at school, & he is often asked for legal advice by other kids. That is why he is called a kid lawyer.I recommend the book to any who like kids, animals & mysteries. My husband is a lawyer. Our 12 year-old (whose middle name is Boone) has never expressed interest in the law and we have never pressured him or even hinted at it.The Theodore Boone series has totally inspired him! He LOVES these John Grisham books for younger readers!!! After school today he visited his dad's office and decided to set up a desk and hang out a shingle. Check out the picture---see one if the books on the corner or the credenza. When one of the legal assistants asked my son to tell her about his clients he replied, "I cannot share my client's confidential information!" We think he's off to a great start. He also wants his schools to create a debate team. ?I purchased these for my son, who's in 6th grade and has to do a couple book reports a quarter. He's a good reader, but he really hates to read. He's been reading a few chapter's a night (because I make him) and is on the second book. I was a little concerned since the first book involves a murder trial and the second a kidnapping, but we've discussed the content and I'm not concerned that it's too bad. No miracle on making my son love to read, but he is interested in the storylines. As a long-time Grisham fan, I was excited to find that he had written a series geared toward young adults. I checked out Book One from our local library to preview first. What a great character Grisham has created a character in Theodore Boone! I bought this set for my 12 yr-old. granddaughter but she and I are both reading the books. I highly recommend it!AMy son loves these books. He got them for Easter and was done about a week later but held his attention and is excited to get more. This is a age appropriate read my son just gets consumed by good books and can’t put them down.these books are a graet read if you have not read them beforeVery good for young readers. My 17 yrs old niece loved them a lot.All our kids lives Theodore Boone books. Even the one who really doesn’t enjoy reading.Great series for young teens. My neice loved these books. She read all of them in under 2 weeks and says there is a fifth book and I need to find it for her.giving as a gift to son-in-law as he loves John Grisholm as well
