My 8 year old nephew is autistic and can be picky about how thing fit. He has a wide foot and were he was use to wearing Nike, as he has grown old we have had problems finding him shoes that were not tight on his feet and would stay tied at school etc. I saw these and read some the reviews and they seemed like a good choice. His mother and siblings are very picky about brands and when I told them I ordered him Sketchers they were not very happy. Once they arrived they actually liked them okay and the little one thought they were great. He tried them on and they were very comfortable and light weight. They have the elastic stretch shoe strings so he just has to slip his foot in and Velcro band that crosses the top. These worked out really great. He has no complaints with shoes. He loved the way they looked and they have held up well. He is not that tough on his shoes so I cannot speak for extremely active kids but they seem well made good sole and we are happy. He still wears them today. Love they came in different colors. We bought different ones.So when I pulled up the old Amazon to look for back to school shoes for my 5 year old son he saw these and said I want sketchers. He can't read but knew these were sketchers so from an advertisement stand point it seems like they're doing their jobs. The best thing from a parent stand point is there's no tying you have the elastic laces and a Velcro strap at the top so it's easy for him to get them on himself. They look to be made well and I'm sure he will out grow them long before he wears them out.I was trepidatious after I purchased because several of the reviews I read mentioned that the soles were slippery but we were in the market for a shoe that would be easy for a dyslexic boy who has trouble with tying his shoes. Though the soles of the shoes are made of a material that feels like plastic my son hasn't had any issues with the soles gripping our home's tile floors or the floors at his school and I no longer have to worry about him walking around school with untied laces. Overall a great shoe.I have twin 6 year old boys and bought two of these shoes back in Feb of 2016. They have worn them nearly every day for the last 5 months. I like that the shoes are light, flexible, and easy to take off and put on. My boys ride bikes, scooters, and wear them to school and at the park. Overall good shoe. I’m lucky if shoes last 3 months and these have lasted 5. Overall good shoe at a fair price. Picture is of shoes as they are at 5 months old. They have held up to wear and rough play.I am usually an little hesitant to buy sneakers for my boys without having them try them on first. I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase. This shoe is very light weigh, offers good support and was priced reasonably. It is also a very nice looking sneaker.Overall pretty happy with the shoes, my son (age 9) likes them, he says they are pretty comfy too... BUT wearing them only about a week, it started peeling at the nose. I know it's only cosmetic, but after only a week, I'd say it's a tad soon!Update: It's been almost two months now that my son has been wearing these shoes and while he loves them, they already falling apart and will need to be replaced before the month is over. These shoes have shortened our "getting ready and out the door for school" time by at least 10 minutes each day!! No complaints from the little guy either. That's worth 5 stars in my book.My son loves these trainers, not least because he doesn't have to deal with laces! They are a comfortable fit and pretty strong. He's had them for nearly a year and they are still fairly good condition.
