My 7-year-old son who usually wears a size 2.5 boys shoe had to return the size 3. The size 2 is still about a 1/2 size too big on him but I know he will grow into them over summer. I thought the size 3 would do this (provide a little space to grow into them) but they were HUGE. I recommend buying a half size down to keep the same size your child is in now or the same size they are in now if you want a little growing room for the next few months. They rub a little at first so I recommend having your child wear them around the house while they get used to bare feet and new sandals and don't get out on a long day adventure to have them rub (risk rejection of the shoes cause they "hurt"). Once he wore them for a couple days, my son started liking them. Great for hot days at school, camp or water shoes that cover toes.The materials in the soles started flaking off the second we put them on to see if they fit. My son literally walked a few steps on the sidewalk and the orange started flaking off. I thought i could overlook that, but when i paid $40 for them, i figured they should last way longer than that. Plus my son was embarassed that the orange was flaking off everywhere. So i sent them back. I don't know if all of their sandals do this, but I won't buy this brand again. I will stick with Keen or Merrell or something else reputable. I am just glad that we were able to return them even after they were worn.We bought them to be a 2nd pair of shoes to wear when our 7 year olds Keens were wet but she is choosing these as her first choice shoes. We do a lot of nature play dates and these held up all day great!These shoes were so incredibly large that we triple checked the size to see if maybe we had been sent the wrong size. They are going back. They are cute shoes though and if you can figure out the correct size, they might work well for you.the shoe was nice looking and in the past this brand has been good. Bought these in March and it finally got warm enough for him to wear. Looks like the stitching came loose after 6-7 times wearing them. Cannot wear them at all anymore.
