Awesome shoes for carbon fiber AFO braces. I only knocked off one star because of the material for this style. They are so cute but will look dirty quickly, like seriously the first day! Our school has a black mulch at the playground and these have a suede feel that don't clean well. I didn't have the same problem cleaning off the canvas with other Billy styles. With the carbon fiber AFOs, you have to take out the sole of the shoe, put in the brace and replace the sole over it. The brace sort of becomes an extension of the shoe and these soles are thick and comfy, plus easy for a 7 yr old to do this step on her own - she can also zip them up herself. We had plastic braces in the past that were strapped to her feet and then we had to cram her foot into a the shoe. If you have those types, then definitely consider ordering a wide width shoe because they may be tight and hard to zip. Follow the guidance and measure the foot for sizing, it was spot on. These shoes provide a great snug fit with the new braces and the laces allow you to adjust perfectly. They would also be great if you have custom inserts.
