My 5 year old wears SMO braces for his fallen arches. These shoes are great for him. They come with 2 removable inserts so you can make the shoes fit how you need them to. He had the high top Billy shoes before and they only lasted him about 5 months. These feel a lot more durable so I think they will last a lot longer. He also likes these a lot better because they look more like shoes the kids in his school wear.
